Junior Bloomsday
Junior Bloomsday's sound brings to mind some tasty offerings from the worlds of lo-fi guitar-pop and punk rock. Textures swirl from the electric to the acoustic and back. Seasick synths and troubled tiers of backing harmonies dissolve into a medicated haze. From his early days squeegeeing raw tracks off the chophouse floor, Bloomsday gleaned an education from masters who knew that without the perfect melody to provide breath, a great riff will suffocate and shrivel.
Nervous Habitats is Bloomsday's first sacrifice at the altar of Roast. The album serves as a reminder that occasionally your life will go terribly awry, but that ultimately, beneath the clouds and the mud and the shit there are always small, frayed strands of consistency and joy with which to thread your humble weapons. The Nervous Habitats digipak is due November 8, 2007.
