Mon Electric Bijou
Mon Electric Bijou creates a dignified, country/post-punk sound inspired by the likes of The Flying Burrito Brothers, The Only Ones, Neu! and Archers Of Loaf. Fronted by Martin Saz, the band was formed in the summer of 2002 in Montreal, Canada.
Mon Electric Bijou's debut album, Songs Made From Plastic (2002), on which Martin Saz was the only musician, was raw and experimental rock n'roll. Inspired by the Keith Moon-Muppets drumming style of Jason Sanchez and by the soulful-immature bass licks of Martin Guilbo, Saz quickly wrote new songs for what would become Bijou's second album, If Blood Could Speak (2004). The Saz quickly followed up with the band's debut on Roast Records, Bullets in the Penguin. Freshly released, Bullets In The Penguin is without a doubt, Mon Electric Bijou's finest effort.
